

There is nothing better than finishing off the summer with a backyard get-together!
A couple tips:

Homemade Salsa
(Country Living Magazine)
1 Pot of salted water
3 Large Tomatoes
1 Large Lime
1 Small Jalapeño (finely chopped)
1/2 Small Red Onion (finely chopped)
2 Tablespoons Fresh Cilantro
-Bring pot of water to a boil
-Slit the bottom of each of the tomatoes in
the shape of an “x”
-Place tomatoes in boiling water until skin
splits (about 20 secs)
-Remove tomatoes from boiling water and
immediately place in a tub of ice
-Once cooled, carefully peal back the skin
-Cut tomatoes in half
-Squeeze out seeds
-Chop the tomatoes and place in bowl
-From the lime, create 1/2 teaspoon of peel
and squeeze 1 tablespoon of juice and
add both to the chopped tomatoes
-Add chopped jalapeño to bowl
-Add chopped onion
-Add fresh cilantro
-Mix and let cool for at least an hour
Homemade Guacamole

2 Large Avocados
1 Large Tomato (finely chopped)
2 Tablespoons Onion (minced)
2 Tablespoons Fresh Cilantro (minced)
1 Lime (juiced)
2 Jalapeños (seeded and minced)
-Remove pit and scoop “meat” from avocado (place in bowl)
-Add all other ingredients
-Add salt and pepper to taste
-Blend with a potato masher
Rose Punch
(Food Network)
1 Cup Fresh Strawberries (Halved)
1 Cup Fresh Peaches (sliced)
Alcoholic Version:
2 Bottles of your favorite Rose Wine
1 Bottle Sparkling Water
1 Cup Granulated Sugar
Nonalcoholic Version:
1 (2 L) bottle of Canada Dry Raspberry Ginger Ale
-Pour your choice of liquids into a pitcher
-Top with fruit
