New Year's Eve Look

Coat: Vogos c/o {out of stock, also loving} // Dress: Ivy & Leo {similar here & here} // Necklace: Frill // Shoes: Sam Edelman via DSW {similar}

Happy New Year's Eve!!! Have you guys decided what you are going to wear? I finally have, but I'm switching it up a bit. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like sequins are getting kind of overdone on New Year's. Yes sequin dresses look great and they're fun, but it's what everyone wears for NYE. So I'm making the switch to leather.

The moment I saw this dress, I fell in love. It's fierce and feminine, but still sophisticated. Pair it with a wool pea coat and some statement heels and you're ready to go! Have fun tonight!

December Raleigh Blog Society Meet Up!

Out of all of the blog growth I've done this year, I think I can safely say that one of the things that makes me the happiest, is how much this little group of Raleigh bloggers has become to me. The Raleigh Blog Society, honestly, came together as kind of an accident... I was looking for some more girlfriends and wanted to meet women that were into the same things as me. So I hosted a styled dinner and invited a ton of local bloggers. Now, a year later, it has turned into an amazing group of supportive, sweet and creative women that have all become dear friends of mine! I am so thankful for it!

This month's event was hosted by Anthropologie in Durham at the Streets at Southpoint! The event was organized by Danielle Davis and the Anthropologie's personal stylist, Morgan.

Vent Salon did live hair demos for us (more details below)! Bean Traders provided delicious coffee, and Videri provided chocolate for our favors!

See a full line up of the event below!

^^ These mugs are only $10 right now and the non-foil versions are $8!!

^^ The in-store stylist showed us multiple gift boxes that would be perfect for your loved ones. This one was perfect for the party host! It's little carry-on cocktail kit is adorable!

^^ Their table setting was adorable! It featured some of their top cocktail shakers, glasses and of course tones of coffee by Bean Traders! (Insert heart eye emoji here.)

^^ The ladies from Vent Salon were adorable! They showed us three hair styles that would be perfect for the new year! Plus they gave us some tips and tricks to use for later.

^^ After the Vent Salon hair tutorials, Morgan showed us some of their top gift ideas! This one was perfect for the friend that loves to cook!

Then Danielle showed us some of her top styling choices and we played dress up in Anthro's swoon-worthy fitting rooms!

We had an absolute blast!! If you are a blogger in the Raleigh area we would love to see you at our next event! Sign up to become a Raleigh Blog Society member here!

Sweater: J.Crew {on repeat} // Skirt: SheIn {wearing size Small, but def needed a Medium!} // Shoes: Aldo {similar here, also loving} // Purse: TJ Maxx
Necklace: local boutique {also loving}

Well, we have officially hit an awkward time of year. Christmas has passed, so it feels inappropriate to wear red and green. New Years is right around the corner, but you can't rightly wear sequins that often during the day. Plus, it feels like it's spring outside! So how do you dress for this craziness? Here's my solution - Mix a fun plaid with some simple winter pieces and/or colors and you're golden!

I have been obsessing over this button up front style of skirt lately, but everyone seems to have the brown ones. While I do think the brown ones are cute, I've started to feel that they are a bit overdone. When I found this one, though, I was ecstatic! It has the most adorable fit and fabric! Plus it's perfect for any season! Warning - it does run small, though. I highly recommend ordering a size up from what you would normally!

I hope you all had wonderful holidays!

Christmas Cocktail Party Outfit!

 Dress: SheIn // Earrings: J.Crew {similar, also loving the stud version}
Shoes: DSW {similar} // Nails: Paintbar Nails Raleigh

If the summer is "wedding season," then the winter is most definitely cocktail party season. I cannot tell you how many cocktail parties I've been invited to in the past couple of weeks. {And no, I'm not bragging about this in the slightest, quite the opposite really.} Maybe I'm just over a lot of this season's trends {reference last post for one of them}, but I swear, if I have to find one more tacky sweater I might loose it. I don't want to show up to a party looking "tacky." I want to show up looking fierce!

So let me introduce you *again* the midi bodycon dress! It is literally perfect for any holiday party and is super easy to style! Just add a statement earring and you're good to go!

Happy Christmas Eve!!

Christmas Day Look

^^ It's finally getting a little cooler around here and man, this wind will chill you to the bone!

Jacket: J.Crew Factory {old, similar & cheaper version here} // Sweater: J.Crew
Skirt: Forever 21 {old similar here} // Scarf: Etsy only $22
Boots: Local boutique {similar here & loving this over the knee version for $15!}
Necklace: Frill {similar here & here} // Socks: Urban Outfitters

Are we over blanket scarves yet? Yes, no, maybe so? I kind of am, on principle {it's been a two year trend for goodness sake}, but they are so perfect as a styling layer. They add color. They add pattern. They easily turn a simple outfit into something more!

That said, I think this look is perfect for Christmas Day. It's a little dressy and is packed with festive colors. But it's also functional enough for you to sit next to the tree and hand out presents. {Anyone else have that job in the family?} I don't know about you guys, but I just can't wait to cozy up and settle in with everyone! Safe travels, if you are making them!
