Blog Societies' Event Round Up

This was a blogging event filled weekend and I couldn't have been happier about it!

Saturday, I attended The Blog Societies' end of summer pool party and met up with some other amazing NC blogger ladies! Since joining the organization, formerly called The Southern Blog Society, I have been dying to go to one of their meet ups, but just couldn't fit their last Kendra Scott Southpoint event into my schedule. So, when I realized I was actually going to be able to attend this one I was ecstatic!

This weekend's event was held at Wendell Falls and was absolutely adorable! Even though it is located in Wendell it felt so close by! The community offers yoga on the lawn and multiple trails, has an onsite restaurant and a chic barn that can be used to host events! {They have recently used the venue to host wine tastings, farmers markets and concerts, among other things! Anyone else sold besides me?!}

Apologies in advance, guys. Some of these pics were taken with iPhones, so they are lower quality. But they were too cute not to post! See who attended in the list below!

Sunday, I met up with the Raleigh Blog Society girls at Buku and brunched it up! I feel like it'd been forever since our last outing so this one was much overdue! Huge thanks to Courtney for providing the flowers and for organizing! See the full list of attendees below!

Overalls: Charlotte Russe {sold out, almost identical for less than $30!}
Crop top: Forever21 // Bag: Kate Spade {Selling on poshmark now,
also obsessing over this one!} // Watch: Michael Kors {old, almost identical} Bracelet: Stella & Dot // Earrings: Moon & Lola via Frill
 Heels: DSW

In general, I try to stay away from things that could be considered childish. I am short, petite and can definitely have a baby face at times {I got reminded at the Y last year that the locker rooms were for 18+ only}, so I try to stick with more grown up looks. When I was shopping the other day, though, I just couldn't resist these overalls! Excuse me. Overshorts!

The retro, acid wash-type look is so perfect and pairing it with a crop top really takes it up a notch. Finished with a pop of pink, I'm not going to lie. I definitely felt like a cool kid in this look. It's very LA mixed with SKS prep, don't you think? What about you guys, would  you rock the overalls?

Back to School Must Haves

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 // 9

I know everyone is really busy with back to school and back to work stuff right now. So, I figured I'd make today's post really short... and relevant! These are some of my current #girlboss faves and I hope you are just as obsessed with them as I am!

Transitional Fall Midi

Dress: Forever 21 {similar here & here and loving this one!}
Shoes: BCBG {similar on sale} // Belt: Forever 21 {old, similar here
Sunnies: Similar here

It's starting to be that time... No not Fall. I'm talking about that awkward time when it starts acting like Fall about once every 10 days or so, but is still in the 90s every other day. What can you do, though, that's North Carolina for you! T-Shirt dresses are the perfect way to handle these transitional days. Hence, the look above.

What did you guys do this weekend? I worked a lot, but was able to fit in some prime time fun at the river on Sunday!! We went floating, talked for hours and giggled at how "intense" our .2 level rapids were. Want to follow along? Add me on snap chat: Frilltho and you can get peek at hilarious photos like the below!

Pleather & Plaid

Shirt: Charlotte Russe {also loving} // Bag: Thrift shop {also loving}
Shorts: Forever 21 {old, similar only $14 here} // Shoes: Target {similar}
Bracelet: Stella & Dot // Watch: Michael Kors {similar}
Earrings: Rocksbox c/o // Lips: Born Pretty in #9

One of my favorite ways to transition from Summer to Fall is to pair shorts with long sleeve, rolled up tops! I know some people are super against the whole "long sleeve shirt with shorts" thing, but I don't know why! Personally, I think it's a great idea. Plus, it seems like my upper body is always the first thing to get cold. {I grew up playing a ton of soccer and thus was always in shorts so maybe that has something to do with it. Who knows.} Regardless, I think working in leather and plaid is the best way to start the great transition. Don't you think!?
