2015 Bathing Suit Picks + Brazilian Bikini Advice

Image and suit by Mara Hoffman via Nic del Mar

I've been super obsessed with bathing suits this year. I mean, yes, I always get a little excited about summer and swim suits each spring, but this year I've been going ham, y'all! And I'm not talking about some basic Victoria's Secret pieces, either. This year, I've really started to branch out and explore some more high end swimwear lines. Here are a couple of my favorite picks!

Speaking of faves, Brazilian style bikinis are super in this year and I have to say, I'm quite a fan - with the right tan and a couple of squats, of course. Finding the right one can be so tough, though! So, I wanted to let you know that thanks to yours truly, your hunt for the perfect Brazilian bikini is over! In fact you won't have to look at all!

What am I talking about? {Warning, you will think I'm crazy, but you will thank me later.} After ordering about 3 new bathing suits, I made the most brilliant discovery!! You don't need to buy anything new!

Simply turn one of your existing bikini bottoms backwards! The cut that typically goes around the front of your hips, actually makes for the perfect Brazilian cut bottom. What happens to the front then, you ask? Well nothing really. There's not nearly as much left over fabric as you'd think. Y'all can laugh as much as you like, but go try one of yours bottoms and you will see I'm right. You're welcome in advance. haha.

But really, though, let me know what you think! I've tried this tactic with about5 of my bottoms and it's worked every time! Now time to get that tan on fleek.

Bold Pops with Fuchsia

Scarf: Pashmina Perfection c/o // Dress: Necessary Clothing (last season)
Shoes: Target (last season, similar here) // Watch: Michael Kors (very similar)
Purse: Michael Kors (borrowed from Sharon)

Ever since I received this scarf from Pashmina Perfection, I have been working it into as many outfits as possible. I love how rich the blues are, how vibrant the yellows appear and how pretty the watercolor print looks! It goes with so much and it can tie together an entire outfit! Plus, I love the fact that the scarf can bring colors into a look that you might not think to bring in otherwise. I can't get enough of it!

On a side note, thank you so much for all of those kind words about my curls. They're not quite as bouncy today, because I slept on them but thanks to you guys maybe I'll be bringing the natural curls out more often!

Stay tuned! I'm going to be doing a Pashmina Perfection scarf giveaway soon!

Kendra Scott Event

A couple weeks ago, the Raleigh Blog Society had a meet up at Kendra Scott's Southpoint location and got to experience the newly released Color Bar! Through the Color Bar, you are able to design any product with any stone you like! It was amazing! And... Not only do you get to customize the jewelry, but you get to leave with it, because they make it in store and it only takes about 10-15 minutes!

I made this adorable necklace in the Elisa style through the Color Bar and can't stop wearing it. {See where I've styled it here, here and here.} Build yours online here.

On Wednesdays We Day Drink

Tank: Jawbreaking // Jeans: H&M // Scarf: J.Crew (similar here)
Shoes: J.Crew // Nails: Ever Glaze in Rethink Pink
Lips: Maybelline in Fuchsia Fever (dabbed off a little)

Ever since my trip to Cali, I've become a lot more fond of graphic tees. I think they can make an outfit a lot more chic, while still looking casual. Plus, I love the fact that a lot of times they can tie in additional colors! I grabbed this tank at one of Jawbreaking's warehouse sales and now every time I put it on I giggle... and think to myself that it's time for a mimosa! How fun is this tank!?

Fun fact - My grandmother was the one that introduced me to this lip color! She always has the best tastes in lipsticks.
