Skin Raleigh Swag & Consultion

As you all read yesterday, last week I attended Skin Raleigh's press opening. But y'all, there was too much goodness for one post! So, today I want to share my consultation, the fun facts I learned and best of all..... the goodies from my swag bag!

As I said yesterday, my evening started with a sip of bubbly from Rey's Restaurant, a nice tour of the facility and a quick bite.

Bella Monica provided the bites and they were delicious! The Caprese flavors were amazing and the cannolis *sigh*, well they were heavenly! {I'd never had a cannoli before, despite the many episodes of Cake Boss that I've watched, and I literally ate 3 that night! Shhh, don't tell. haha}

After eating, I had the great pleasure of having a consultation with Davis & Pyle team member, Lisa Adams. {She's not pictured below, but I thought this was a great picture of some of their team - and Essense haha.} During my consultation, we addressed my dry skin and slight rosacea and talked about various moisturizers and sunscreens that I can add to my daily routine to help. The consultation was so calm and pressure free, I truly felt at home.

Here are a couple of fun facts that I learned!

Are botox and fillers the same thing?
No, that is a common misconception. Botox is an injection that relaxes the muscle causing the wrinkle. Fillers are injections that add volume to smooth wrinkles.

Where do you get botox and where do you get fillers?
Typically for the face, the rule of thumb is from just below the eyes and up you get botox, and from just below the eyes down you get fillers. (Ex: Crows feet around the eyes = botox. Frown lines = fillers) Obviously, it varies from person to person, though!

How did Skin Raleigh get started?
Davis and Pyle Plastic Surgery has been in business for years now, but recently saw a need in the market for a company to provide both plastic surgery and skincare services. "We had customers coming to us to get a breast augmentation and then asking us where to go for facial or med spa treatments and we started thinking, why don't just we do all of it?" - Dr. Pyle

Skin Raleigh Event Recap

Last week, I was invited to tour Skin Raleigh, the new addition to David & Pyle Plastic Surgery. Upon arriving, the rest of the guests and I were invited to view the space, get a complementary skin consultation, eat some tasty hors d'oeurves and ask any skin/plastic surgery questions that we had. Plus, we got a ton of great swag! Below are just a few of the photos from the event!

This is in one of Skin Raleigh's exam rooms. They have two lasers that each address their own, special solutions - They literally have something for everyone. I love all of the fluffy, comfortable details! The make the space so inviting, it doesn't even feel like a medical office!

This is the waiting room for any service that requires numbing. It's so darn cute! It has a TV and magazines. It's the perfect place to rest!

My favorite part, though, is the outdoor patio!! It is so cabana like! I literally would just go hang out there, if I could. Its light and airy and perfect! Clients and their guests are invited to wait in this area, if they wish.

In the lobby area is a modern couch and this beautiful display of products! There are so many to choose from and its so well decorated.

My favorite part about the space was the attention to detail... Every. Little. Thing was perfectly placed and styled!! It was so incredibly beautiful.

I was so happy to show up and see so many of blogger friends! It was like an impromptu girls night! We sipped some tasty champagne and laughed the night away.

Over all, it was an amazing event! The space was so beautiful and everyone there was so knowledgeable and kind! During my consultation, it was obvious that they only wanted what was best for me. They weren't interested in pushing a sale. They were interested in me as a person, what my skin routine consists of and addressing my concerns.

I had a blast! Like I said at the beginning, there was a ton of swag, some great food and some fun facts shared. So check back soon for the rest of the details! Until then, here's a little list of some of the other ladies that attended. (Sorry in advance in case I miss any of you!)

Blanket Scarf Wrap

Top: JC Penney (old, similar) // Jeans: Uniqlo (similar)
Scarf: Old Navy (similar) // Shoes: H&M
Bracelet: Moon & Lola // Nails: Essie in Butter Please
Earrings: Frill (will be up this week!)

It's been so cold lately that I have been wearing scarves constantly. One of the things I love about blanket scarves is the fact that they are so versatile. Yes, you can wear them like any other scarf, but my favorite outfit posts are the ones that show blanket scarves styled differently. So last week when I was running errands, I switched it up and wore my blanket scarf as a wrap. I love how different it is and man, it is so much warmer!! I will most definitely be doing this type of styling again soon! Do you like it!?

Boone Weekend

Jacket: Sheinside // Top: Old (similar) // Jeans: Citizens // Boots: H&M

This past weekend, Aubrey and I made our yearly trek to Beech Mountain for 80s weekend! (Basically, everyone on the mountain dresses in 80s ski gear, they play 80s music and it's a blast!!) Besides "buttering the gnar," we met up with a couple old friends and visited all of our favorite spots around town. It was truly an amazing weekend. Above is the outfit I wore to brunch on Sunday.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Snow Day in J. Crew

Turtleneck: J.Crew (on sale! Also similar) // Sweater: J.Crew (similar
Jacket: J.Crew (I'm literally obsessed with it) // Jeans: Citizens of Humanity
Boots: Wellington via Ebay // Purse: Purchased at market

It's snowing in Raleigh!!! We got about an inch of snow/ice on Tuesday night and everyone is freaking out. All of the businesses are closed and everyone is staying inside. Meanwhile, I am in heaven! Going to school in Boone made me such a mountain girl. I love going to the beach, but during the winter, I live for snow. So right now I am one happy lady!!

I had to run some errands today, so when I was getting dressed I threw on a ton of layers. While I was out, I grabbed these gorgeous blooms! Aren't they pretty? {Fun fact, I'm very budget conscious so I never buy/get flowers on Valentines day. Instead I wait until after and get more for my money!} I love the contrast these bright pinks bring to this pale day. I think the look is very Ralph Lauren. Don't you agree!?

How are you spending your snow days?!

Fuchsia Shift Dress

Dress: Swagger Boutique c/o // Necklace: Frill {on site soon}
Earrings: Stella & Dot // Bracelet: Stella & Dot
Shoes: C Wonder {old, also loving these and these}

I would like to dedicate this post to Sharon. haha I love fuchsia, but fuchsia is Sharon's color. We always joke when we're shopping and find a fuchsia colored piece that she's going to buy it... and then she does. But hey, the girl looks good in it, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Anyway, when I was shopping at Swagger the other day I was automatically drawn to this bright dress and knew that I had to style it. I loved the color and the cut was simple but flattering. Since it reminded me of something Sharon would wear, I styled it how I thought she would. I paired it with a pretty statement necklace and left the rest simple. {I think I nailed it, 'cause she ended up buying the dress.} Isn't it gorg!?

PS - I didn't edit these pics to make the dress that bright, it was an overcast day and the dress really is that bright. Love it!
