No white after Labor Day – We’ve all heard it a thousand times. But that statement is so vague, what does it really mean!? Does it mean no more white pants? No more white dresses? Surely it can’t mean no white altogether, right?!
I’m going to break it down for you nice and simple – there is not set in stone rule!! No white after Labor Day means whatever you want it to mean. No stranger on the street is going to stop you and say “OMG it’s after Labor Day and you’re wearing white!!” So, if it’s hot outside and you want to wear white shorts, by all means, wear them.
If you are still concerned about it, though, this is how I translate it. No more white bottoms (pants, skirts, shorts, etc.) and no more white, summery dresses after Labor Day. It just doesn’t look quite right to wear white pants when its cold outside.
Hope that helped a little!
